Celebrating Thanksgiving – November 2019

THANKSGIVING is an opportunity we get every year to count our blessings in life and be thankful for them. Our third graders at B2 level, had the opportunity to explore this American and Canadian tradition by doing some research into its origin. Reading short articles and watching relevant videos helped them build specific vocabulary and enrich their knowledge by adding some cultural element to their learning. Naturally, they shared many reasons they were thankful for.

I am thankful for a lot of things. One of them is being healthy. Also, I’m thankful for going to school and having enough money to live well. There are a lot of people who are ill, who can’t afford to eat or send their children to school.

I’m really thankful for my family. I really love all of them and I know they love me too. I’m most thankful for my sister, who I love more than myself. I want her always to be happy. I’ll always be there for her. Thank God I’ve got her!

We don’t often take the time to think about the things we should be grateful for and we take them for granted. I personally have many reasons to be thankful for. First of all I have a family that loves and supports me and I have also had two good friends since I was born who really care about me. Finally, I am offered good education which will help me later in life.

I’m thankful for being healthy. I appreciate the support of my family. Thanks to them I can attend a good school. Finally, I’m thankful for my friends who are always there when I need them.

I am thankful for my best friends and my sister who were always there for me when I needed them. I’m also thankful for my parents, especially my Mum because she’s always right in what she says! I’m thankful for my gymnastics class, music and acting classes at school. Last but not least, I’m grateful for the mistakes I make because, through them, I learn so much more than I thought I would.

I’m thankful for many things, mostly for my grandma. She’s a very kind person who has helped me a lot. I’ve shared my most serious concerns with her and this is very important to me.

I am thankful for my family because my parents have always supported me. They try to do me favours I ask them and have never shown preference to my brother over me.
